What does the dialogue in this passage suggest about the character of Higgins? Higgins swabbed the whole deck of the Seagull and then tied off the mainsail as the wind kicked up. The captain shouted, "Higgins, get up in the crow's nest and look for rocks." "Aye, aye, Captain!" Higgins said. Then he muttered under his breath, "One day, I'll be the one who orders you around." Up top, Higgins immediately saw that the Seagull was headed straight for a rock. He froze. He tried to yell out, but the words caught in his throat. This wasn't happening.
