PROJECT: DEFINING TECHNICAL TERMS There are a large number of technical terms used by business professionals. All types of businesses have specific terms of
their own. For example, in a textile business, an employee would be expected to understand the term "filament," which is a
fine, thinly spun thread, fiber, or wire. A person working in a bank, on the other hand, would be expected to understand the
term "ATM network," which is a computer network that connects the Automated Teller Machines of different banks.
However, that same person would not need to understand the term "filament" When you begin to prepare for work in a
specific profession, you'll study to gain understanding of technical terms associated with that profession. And because new
technical terms are continuously added, it is important to have resources for defining unknown technical terms.
