One of the common answer is that most military government in the world are using dictatorship way. for example, Republic of China. In 1924, Sun Yat Sen proclamated the China Military Government and launched Nothern Expedition. They did of course unify China. In 1927, mass demonstration broke out in Shanghai, demanding the right of worker (which at the time were loyal to CCP) and People were killed by military soldiers and officers. The slaughter went on for years, with the cover of purifying China from Communist.
