It’s not easy being a bird, especially when you can’t figure out how to fly. That was Donny’s problem. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t lift off the ground. He watched the other birds and tried to imitate what they did, but nothing seemed to help.
Summer was almost over, and the leaves were starting to fall off the trees. It would soon be winter, and everyone else would be heading south for warmer weather. Donny didn’t want to be left behind, and he didn’t want to be a burden. He would teach himself to fly once and for all.
