1. Which Romantic poet have you most enjoyed reading? Why? Do certain Romantic poems "speak" to you more than others? Why?
2. Is there a contemporary book or movie that seems to have Romantic elements,
ideas, or themes in it? Give examples from the book or movie.
3. We know Samuel Taylor Coleridge was interrupted while writing "Kubla Khan."
When he returned, he could no longer see the poem of his dreams, so he
finished the poem as best he could. No one knows where Coleridge initially
broke off. Using your understanding of style and theme, determine where you
think Coleridge stopped. Support your argument with specific examples that
would convince another reader of your position.
As a follow-up posting, ask a question of your own or state whether you agree or
disagree, and why, with a classmate's posting.
