Adirge is a funeral song. why did shelley choose that title for this poem? a dirge by percy bysshe shelley rough wind, that moanest loud grief too sad for song; wild wind, when sullen cloud knells all the night long; sad storm, whose tears are vain, bare woods, whose branches strain, deep caves and dreary wail, for the world's wrong! he is discouraged by the state of society. he is embracing nature and its violence. he wishes to mourn nature. he wishes to comfort nature.
