What history can teach us about responding to change

Those that adapt most readily to change are likely to thrive and survive. This can be viewed from both a biological and business perspective. From a biological perspective, change or mutation allows a species to continue to live and survive. If a particular animal can only survive in one habitat with only a few sources for food, then if the habitat changes, like an decrease in temperature, or a food source disappears due to a disease, then so will that animal. A more specific example, comes from business. The Kodak corporation was a pioneer in the film and photography industry. They did not adapt to the digital age, and although they still exist, their control of market share and prominence in cameras and photography is a shadow of its former self. Adapt and change, or resist and fail.
