Paul Rusebagina saved the lives of 1,268 people by giving them sanctuary in the luxury hotel that he managed during Rwanda's genocide. He wrote the book "An Ordinary Man" to share the reality of what happened in Rwanda. It was titled as such, because Paul Rusebagina wasn't anyone special, simply ordinary, but his actions saved the lives of over a thousand people. While there was a film produced based on Rusebagina's story it failed to portray how angry he was at Kofi Annan and the United Nations. Rusebagina believed their actions allowed people to believe that things in Rwanda were better than the actually were, which caused much more harm. Perhaps if others would have stepped in, things in Rwanda would have been much different.
