The Phantom of the Opera is about an opera house which is, supposedly, haunted by (you guessed it!) The Phantom of the opera. It is said that he sends letters to managers and causes trouble in performances. One day during a gala, Christine (female lead) runs into her childhood sweetheart. Later on, during a performance, the phantom steals the voice of the main female singer and drops a chandelier in the theater. Then, he kidnaps Christine and confesses his love for her. But, because he is super ugly (disfigured, actually), she is scared by him. He decides to keep her captive forever until she convinces him to let her free by promising to always be faithful to him (which is a lie). After becoming [apparently] free, she goes to her sweetheart, tells him what happened, and convinces him to run away with her. Unfortunately for them, the phantom has been eavesdropping and gets angry, so he ends up kidnapping Christine all over again. He is upset at her for deceiving him and tells her that her options are either to be faithful and marry him or watch him destroy the theater, the people inside, and her sweetheart along with his friend. To save the day, Christine agrees to marry the phantom.

Taking this into consideration, we could conclude that four of the main themes in this story are the following, which could be represented by simbols listed below:
