English is the West Germanic Language which was originated from ‘Anglo-Frisian dialects’ who were brought to Britain during the mid 5th to 7th centuries AD and with the end of the Roman rule in 410 AD, It was Latin language which had a major influence on the ‘Celtic languages’ that were spoken by the majority of the population which used to live there and which is now known by the name of northwest Germany.  

The Anglo-Saxon language which is now known by the name of Old English was originated as a group of ‘Anglo-Frisian dialects’ which were spoken by the settlers who used to live in England as well as Southern and Eastern Scotland of the Middle Ages.
