What was the difference between little women book and 1949 movie ?

1) In the book, Beth is one year older than Amy but in the movie, Beth is shown as a few years younger.
2) In the book, Jo and Laurie first met when the she and her sisters were bringing breakfast to the Hummels while in the move, Jo & Laurie met at a New Year's Eve party.
3) In the book, only Meg and Jo attended the New Year's Eve party. In the movie, all the March girls went.
