Mount Lico is a very interesting mountain. It is 1,100 meters high, but it is actually very small in area. The mountains has volcanic origin, and it sticks out of the surrounding area. It is made out of igneous rocks. Its sides are very steep, almost vertical, made exclusively out of rocks. This makes the top of the mountain pretty much impossible to get to without modern day equipment. The top of the mountain is relatively flat, and it is covered by small tropical forest, covering around 30 hectares. Despite the forest being very small, it is very interesting for the scientists because it has not been touched by humans, and it represents an excellent example of small but very rich habitat.
