One more question to go: design an experiment to test whether the magnetic polarity of rocks changes as you move away from the mid-atlantic ridge. your experiment needs to include a hypothesis (if…then…) and a procedure to follow. how would you get rock samples? what would you need to measure? what tools would you use? write a hypothesis about how the independent variable (distance from the plate boundary) affects the dependent variable (direction of magnetic polarity).
