Your friend recently completed an oceanographic cruise along the 160°w meridian. she sends her samples to you for measurements of dissolved o2 and nutrient concentrations. you measured an o2 concentration of 10 μmol kg-1 in her most important sample but, based on henry’s law and records of the sample’s temperature and salinity, you’ve calculated it’s o2 naec to have been 310 μmol kg-1.

calculate the aou associated with this water sample.

where in the world ocean do you think this sample could have come from? your answer should state the latitude, longitude, water depth (in meters), and the name of the ocean. hint: review sections of o2 and aou presented in the notes from lecture 5

briefly, explain why the o2 concentration is so low here.
