The station models are a type of symbolic illustration that is shown on the weather maps and occurs at a given reporting station and it allows the users to analyze the patterns of the given atmospheric pressure temperature and the wind speed, along with the cloud cover and the rainfall.   As the phenomenon on the winds is different for various places there speeds also vary according to there directions and they are shown by the flags and starlight lines and feathers that point in direct to the winds.

Why the planet stays in orbit is because of inertia (object stays in motion until a force changes it’s motion) also the atmosphere and gravity!
