14. Explain six factors that hinder development of river transportation in Africa

-Seasonality of volume of water;Some rivers have very high volume of water during the wet season but very low volume of water during the dry season
-Presence of rapids and waterfalls like Rippon falls on R.Nile hinders movement of vessels
-Some rivers eg Nzoia and Yala are too short and narrow making movement of vessels difficult floating vegetation like sudd on parts of R.Nile hinder navigation
-Silting at rivers mouths for example on R.Athi, R.Tana and R.Rufiji hindering movement of vessels
