For geography: The Indus Valley civilization was built between the desert, mountains, forests. This caused the Indus Valley to have very fertile land, which was good for agriculture, and made the foundations of a good civilization. The deserts and mountains also provided a natural barrier between the Indus Valley and enemies.

For climate: The geography of the Indus Valley determined the climate, most notably the monsoon. The agriculture relied on these seasonal periods of heavy rain, which when used right, benefited the growing of crops. The rivers often flooded in the summertime, which was when the snow-capped himalayas melted.
