Many of the countries are still developing, and because of this, their governments are corrupt as hckk. Presidents and government officials tend to steal money from its people a lot, through everything. This is because of very weak law enforcement and the limiting of powers. This causes for the economy and education in the country to go down. This also causes more poverty, which means less people go to school and get careers. This is one of the big reasons why I appreciate the free education in the U.S., we are very privileged and we should be grateful for the things we have that others wish to obtain. :(

The Panama Canal improved transportation a thousand times better. People from California or Asia had to go around South America through boat, and this took about 12 - 14 months. When the canal was built, the time decreased to about 3 months (which is a lottt). It also decreased the deaths from starvation or hitting icebergs at the south.

The cultures across the countries are very different due to different conquerors during the Colonization Era back in the 17th century. Spanish, British, French, Dutch, etc. conquered many parts of land, so that’s why Mexico speaks Spanish while its neighboring country, Belize, speak English. The culture diversity is very high in the Americas.
