For example, Japan is an island country, with over 6,000 islands. Most of these islands have a high population density, because Japan is one of the most populated countries in the world, with over 120 million people.

However, some are more densely populated than otherse. Hokkaido, for example, the northermost of the large islands, has a population density of 67 people per square kilometer, while Honshu has a population density of 447 people per square kilometer.
