What did the factories of New England produce?

After multiple factories were created in the North, families stopped living on their small self sufficient farms and moved closer to the cities. This gave the people the ability to work in factories, businesses, etc. without having to raise their own farm. The people would buy goods from markets, unlike before. The people would no longer have to grow their food and raise their own animals because other farmers would for them, then sell the goods.
This was a whole new way of life for the people.
The first cotton-mill was built in America. Also there were new advances in mining, steam power, manufacturing, gas lighting, chemicals, machine tools, glass making, paper machines, and transportation.
