01.01 Example Paragraph
I live in Crystal River, Florida, on the West coast of the state. It is located in Citrus County which is in the region of Florida referred to as the Nature Coast. To describe its relative location to people who are unfamiliar with the area, I tell them that I live an hour and a half north of Tampa. As for place, the city has access to the Gulf of Mexico, but there is no barrier island. Most people access the Gulf via boat on the Crystal River. The weather is mild, and we enjoy a breeze off the Gulf of Mexico. The area is home to several natural springs where Manatee live. We also have other marine life and native animals living in the many wooded areas. These are all a part of its physical system. Many homes are built on canals that lead to the river. These canals, which contain seawalls and boat docks, are examples of human systems in the area. Another human system is the Duke Energy power plant that uses water of the Gulf of Mexico to condense steam and cool other systems. All of this access to water means that a lot of people have hobbies like fishing or boating. Some businesses, like restaurants, are located on the water and have places for people to park their boats instead of their cars.
