The sheer expanse of the Asian continent includes numerous climate zones and ecosystems. From the subarctic climate of North Asia, to the tropical rainforests of Indonesia, to the deserts of Central Asia, the continent is home to a diverse range of plants, animals, people, and industries. Where arable land exists, countries often grow tea, rice, wheat, and other tropical agricultural products. These products can support both domestic and international needs. Opportunities for fishing exist along coastal regions, where the continent is surrounded by three oceans. Meanwhile, the land in the mountains yields opportunities for hydroelectricity and mining. Oil is a plentiful resource in many of the deserts of Central Asia, particularly near the Caspian Sea. Manufacturing plants exist throughout the continent to assemble natural resources or create synthetic resources for export.
