How do economic problems create social and political problems?

Well economic is about money, theres a lot of problems that people can create with money. Lets say that the government is ran into an economic problem, how would they pay the people in charge, and how are they going to pay for our military? So in the social part, there can be rumors spread about how someone or something ran into this problem. And in the political part, it can effect how you look at different parties, one example of this is favoritism.
