 Europe is called "The peninsula of peninsulas" because Europe is a relatively small, elongated appendage to Asia, and that a large part of Europe is made up of peninsulas.

Europe is connected to Asia on it's east side, but on the north, south, and west sides Europe is surrounded by water. But because Europe has a rather odd shape it has many smaller peninsulas sticking off it's north, south, and west sides. This is why Europe is called the "peninsula of peninsulas".
