Generally, Mediterranean scrub forests are in areas that are low, hot, inland areas although they can also be near cool oceans, my best answer would have to be... The Americas because California has Mediterranean scrub forests, although I'm not sure

I'm pretty sure it's c. extremely gradual but not 100% sure though.
