Can anyone explain what is subduction in their own words? try to explain briefly, and in simple words < 3

Subduction occurs at destructive plate boundaries. It is when a heavier/denser oceanic plate gets pushed down into the mantle by the less dense continental plate. The point where the oceanic plate subducts is called the subduction zone.
