In rheumatoid arthritis, whether there is movement or while at rest, pain is always there. Therefore, the registered nurse must instruct the student nurse that if there is no movement of joints, it will become stiffer that results to more pain. However, when there is movement of joints, pain will eventually subsides as you use your joints.
