List the parts of the urinary system and describe the function of each one.

Kidneys:remove waste from the blood in the form of urine, keeps substances stable in the blood, and to make vitamin D active

The 2 ureters: these narrow tubes carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder

Bladder:the bladders’ walls relax and expand to store urine, and contract and flatten to empty urine through the urethra

The 2 sphincter muscles:they are circular muscles that keeps urine form leaking by closing tightly like a rubber band around the opening of the bladder

The nerves in the bladder: the nerves alert a person when it is time to urinate of empty the bladder

Urethra: this tube allows bladder to pass outside the body

1.)dr. natterson- horowitz came to realize that their isn't much of a difference between animals and humans. just like humans, animals can suffer from illnesses and diseases like breast cancer, self injury, anxiety, and many more. she also discovered how they even treated and performed surgical procedures on animals just as if the animal it self were human. the los angeles zoo called dr. natterson- horowitz because they knew that she was a doctor and that  she would be able to recognize what was wrong with the gorilla. they knew that humans and gorillas were similar, so instead of calling another veterinarian, they called a doctor.
