Essay question: the game of baseball was owned/controlled by its owners and not the players, was this a good or bad idea? why or why not.

I personally believe this is a bad idea because, in my opinion, the owners could essentially do whatever they want to the players without them having a say in it. For an effective team there has to be a healthy balance of power distributed among everyone. If you put some player out on a baseball field and tell him do what i say and you can't say no, obviously create internal issues, but i digress.
