The following steps are included in a five-and-five approach

In this step, stand behind the person who is choking. Bend the person so that he/she is parallel to the ground. Place a hand on his/her chest. Give five separate back blows with  your hands.

Give five separate abdominal thrusts to the person who is choking.

Alternate between back blows and thrusts until the blocking starts to dislodge.
