A person's senses allow him to perceive the environment that surrounds him. One of the human senses is "touch." The situation above tackles the sense of touch as it directs me to put my fingers into three bowls of varying temperature. When I dipped by fingers into the hot and cold water, I could say that I can identify the temperature difference. I dipped my right finger into the cold water and it feels cold. I dipped my left finger into the hot water and it really feels hot. However, when I dipped both of them into the warm water after a few seconds, I couldn't feel the same temperature. My right finger feels warmer, while my left finger feels cooler. Thus, it is safe to say that I cannot trust my senses for measuring the temperature.

The situation above is all about heat flow. The flow of heat moves from warmer object to a cooler object. Once you touch a cooler object, the heat is transferred and it spreads. This explains why the right finger feels cooler than the left finger when it touched the warm bowl of water.
