More than likley yes he is going through the begining stages of withdrawl. If I were you and wanted to help him I would make sure he starts eating LIGHT and safe meals such as the BRAT diet so his gut can heal. This diet consists of bananas, rice, applesauce (original) and toast.

Drink wise I would make sure he drinks plenty of water and apple juice. (apple juice is a natural laxitive)

Also make sure he's getting plenty of rest and sleep.
