What makes you want to sleep

Not an expert buuut from what I know, burning calories usually makes you want to sleep. Since calories are connected to energy, the less you have, the less energy you have, therefore you're body wants to sleep. (If that makes sense)

For example: If you have a hard workout, you are most likely going to come out of tired, since you are burning calories. Or if you are gardening all day, or hiking, the same thing happens.

Though, there are also sleep disorders that can, even without all of those factors implemented, make you want to sleep all day. Same thing with depression, which can make you want to sleep all the time.

Again, I'm not an expert so please correct me if I'm wrong!

Your body is used to going to bed and waking up at a certain time, so, this is known as your "body clock." Every night when it gets dark, your body releases a chemical called melatonin. It makes you feel drowsy, which helps you fall asleep. Melatonin also helps your body wake up at a comfortable time.
