What is it?:  When an adult is sexually engaging with a minor. Minors can not consent to sexual activities- therefore it's illegal. Some examples are:

Laws: The law states that it focuses more on the harm done by the offender more than the punishment. But, the offender will be placed in jail and the Sexual Offender Registry for 5-7 years and maybe even lifetime.

Child sexual abuse is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent uses a child for sexual things. Forms of child sexual abuse include engaging in sexual activities with a child (whether by asking or pressuring, or by other means), exposing one’s self, child grooming, including using a child to produce child p***ography.

In CA, The law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom gives victims of childhood sexual abuse until age 40, or five years from discovery of the abuse, to file civil lawsuits. The previous limit had been 26, or within three years from discovery of the abuse.
