Keisha is in the 7th grade at Healthy Living Middle School. She is involved in many different activities outside of school and has many friends. Her favorite activity outside of school is volleyball. She is a talented athlete and athletics are very important to her. Keisha has made it a personal goal to stay alcohol-free. She is aware that some people in her grade are experimenting with alcohol. Keisha’s friends are also alcohol free. Keisha is constantly seeing alcohol advertisements, and it does cause her to be curious about alcohol. Keisha is also very involved with her family. Her parents do not drink, and it is very important to them that Keisha not drink.

Walker is at summer camp. While in his cabin, he decides to take out a bottle of alcohol he has hidden in his backpack. Walker started experimenting with alcohol last year. His parents used to give him sips of alcohol as a child. Walker likes the way the alcohol makes him feel. He is starting to become addicted and can’t stop thinking about drinking. He has a family history of alcoholism. Walker has participated in health classes that discussed the dangers of drinking. Walker doesn’t think he has a problem. As a result of watching some of his favorite music videos, he thinks everyone is drinking alcohol.
