How do i convince my mom to take me to get my autism diagnosis. (i don't know which subject to put this under so I just picked health...)

I got evaluated for it at like 5 and im still waiting for it to get done at 16. What am i supposed to do, she legit won't take me even though the doctors know i have it and she knows i have it. she just procrastinates on everything.

(if you are wondering, they evaluated me for it but they didnt want to give me a full diagnosis at 5 because they wanted to see if i would grow out of it no... it just got worse.)

What you could do is have a sit down conversation with her and explain the reasons on why you think it has gotten worse. You could use the DEAR MAN technique.

D- Describe: Describe the situation. When you describe the situation, stick to the facts

E- Express: Express how you feel about the situation. Avoid getting upset.

A- Assert: state a fact or belief confidently and forcefully.

R- Reinforce: strengthen or support, especially with additional material

M- Mindfulness: conscious or aware of something ( Be Mindful of what your mother is saying and try to understand where she is coming from)

A- Appear confident

N- Negotiate: try to reach an agreement or compromise by discussion with others

I am 16 years old and I do this with my parents. It isn't an overnight thing. It takes practice. If you need more advice on how to achieve this goal i can definitely help you. I really hope this helps. If not we can try other things. I would also write it down first so you aren't going in blind. You can even bullet point it. Write down what you would like to talk about and go over it. If you need to you can take that paper in with you.
