New research has shown that marijuana has the ability to kill cancer cells. THC protects healthy cells, which helps during chemotherapy, which often attacks all cells, including the healthy ones. Researchers are now looking at how to use this protein to help kill Cancer. (A) With all this information in terms of not causing death (ever), medical properties, ability to treat a variety of health ailments, protection of cells, and even killing cancer cells, should this be legal in the US for any adult who wants to use it recreationally (this would also include medicinal), or should it only be used for medical uses?
(B) Why or why not? Cite your reasons. Be specific to explain your answers.
Please consider a few things . . . if you say that it should only be used for medicine and not recreational, please explain the difference. Some students will go on to say it can be harmful--if so, why is it ok to give as a medicine if it is harmful?
