How does a person’s sense of self change from infancy to age 7 or 8 and from ages 10 to 11 into the teenage years?

Infants are usually not aware of any self change. At this point in their lives they are still new to the world and therefore, they are just focused on taking everything in. Although they might not know it, they are developing both mentally and physically.

Children aged 7-8 are similarly not interested in self change. 

However, when reaching the age or 10-11, children are aware of their knowledge, capabilities and self change. They have more experience in the world compared to infants and are getting ready for their pre-teen and teenage years. 

In the teenage years come puberty. This is an obvious change every person experiences and whether they want to notice or not, they get to see how they are changing everyday. As for knowledge, teens graduate from grade 8 and change from elementary school to high school. Going into high school changes many things for a person such as their friend group, preferences (shown in the courses they take), and goals in life.
