Badminton is a net sport. It involves two players, one on each side of the net. Each player has a racket to hit the bird or birdie with. A shuttlecock (also known as a bird or birdie) is a rubber ball with feather like texture attached to it. The rubber part is used to hit the racket. The rubber weighs more than the feather/net part so it hits the racket, that is how you gain more power to hit it over the net.
