Eduardo just graduated high school and wants to be a social worker. He found a private college a few hours away that has one of the best social work programs in the region. He got a scholarship but would still have to take out some small loans to complete the program. His parents want him to start at a local state college so that he can save money and help take care of his younger siblings. The state college does not offer a program in social work or the internship programs of the private college. What long- and short-term consequences for himself and his family does Eduardo need to factor into his decision?
