Write the examples of different types of bones.​

There are five types of bones, they are
1. Flat bones: They are thin and flat. They provide protection from mechanical injury to the internal organs. The bones that form the cranium are flat bones.
2. Irregular bones: They have complicated shapes that cannot be classified as 'long', 'short' or 'flat'. Their shapes are due to the functions they fulfill within the body. The bone of the vertebral column, the bones of the pelvic region.
3. Long bones: These type of bones are longer than wider and they function to support the weight of the body and facilitate movement
4. Short bones: They are almost cube-shaped bones as they are equal in their length and width. They form the carpels in the wrist and tarsels in the ankle.
5. Sesmoid : These bones are small, round and embedded in the tendons. Tendons are present between the bone of the elbow, knee etc.
Patella the knee bone is a sesmoid bone.
