other. For example, an operating room nurse and a surgeon are both involved when a
patient needs their appendix taken out. Explain the difference in education between these
two positions. What skills or talents might the surgeon have that help her do her job? What

Nurse education - Undergraduate degree, graduate degree, training to be an RN (registered nurse) or an LPN (licensed practical nurse)

Surgeon education - Undergraduate college degree, four+ years of medical school, and up to eight years of training

Nurse skills and talents - Bedside manner, working quick on your feet, physical health depending on what department you are working in (ER, l&D, etc)

Surgeon skills and talents - Steady hand, multiple degrees, physical strength (standing while doing surgery)
