How is a fad diet different than a low calorie diet?

Fad diets are plans sold as the best and fastest approach to losing weight.  Some people go on a very low-calorie diet for rapid weight loss. A fad diet you don't get the nutrients you need but in a low calorie diet you get what you need just less.
