You are thinking about a career in health science so you want to take some time to research the hazards that you may face if you decide to work in this field. with some research you discover:   a. there is nothing to worry about because there are no real risks that you will encounter when working in this field. b. you may face hazards like chemicals, biological agents, and hazardous drugs but you are not worried because companies are required to provide protective gear. c.you may be exposed to infectious agents like tb and mrsa but you are not worried because a simple mask and gloves will prevent infection. d. you may encounter violent patients but you are not worried because anyone can easily keep the violent patients restrained with restraint devices.

Why: drug exposures, waste anesthetic gas exposures, respiratory hazards, ergonomic hazards from lifting and repetitive tasks, laser hazards, workplace violence, hazards associated with laboratories, and radioactive material and x-ray hazards. (Research from a Health Science website)

B: Yes... Lets see why! Why: Employers CANNOT require workers to bring their own PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Even if the worker does bring their own PPE the employer must ensure that it is adequate to protect the worker from hazards at the workplace. But, still, you shouldn't be completely carefree. 


C: Noppers! Why: Studies haven PROVEN that gloves and gowns will NOT protect workers from TB and MRSA. (MRSA def: a form of bacterial infection that is resistant to numerous antibiotics.) (TB def: is a potentially fatal contagious disease that can affect almost any part of the body)


D: NO! Why: Violent patients should ALWAYS be a hazard, and never should you rely solely on restraint devices to keep them at bay.
