The road of Santa Fe, was a famous route of transport of the XIX century that ran through the center of North America, connecting the cities of Independence (now Missouri) and Santa Fe (today New Mexico) along about 1400 km of arid meadows, deserts and mountains.

This route became the first and only international route between the United States and Mexico, until the railroad to Santa Fe, New Mexico was built in 1880.
