Cherokee nation vs Georgia was a United States Supreme Court case. The Cherokee people saw a federal injunction which is a legal an equitable remedy that compels a party to do or stops doing from specific acts against laws passed by the U.S state of Georgia depriving them of rights within its boundaries. The supreme didn't hear the case on its merits.  

Worcester vs Georgia was another Supreme Court case. Samuel A. Worcester was part of group of white Christian missionaries who were living in the Cherokee territory in Georgia. The men were giving advice against imposing Georgia state laws in the Cherokee territory. The Supeme court ruled that all the Georgia laws regarding the Georgia nation were unconstitutional and therefore null or void.
