America did succeed in the policy of containment which was stopping the communist nations to expand and spread its influence but lost money and lives. North and South Korea have been divided between the buffer zone that runs along the 38th parallel. North Korea was still communist and South Korea was still democratic. This nation is not just divided geographically but their economics and social structures are completely diverse. The war marked the first major armed conflict of nuclear age.
