How effective were american cold war interventions at creating a better world?

 American interventions had mixed results in different countries. They succeeded in countries such as south Korea,  but failed in china and Vietnam. Some interventions were however the cause of conflicts in some regions for several years such as the Congo crisis, where the CIA orchestrated the assassination of Patrice Lumumba.
