Why did tensions between arabs and jews in palestine escalate during the 1930s?

It was because the Arabs were worried about losing their land due to the increased Jewish immigration to Palestine.

In 1937, Britain had the right to determine Palestine’s fate, separating the feuding Jewish and Arab communities where Arabs rejected the proposal because they were unwilling to cede to what they felt was Arab land to another colonial power. After the Holocaust, the Jewish refugees streamed into Palestine and intensified the conflicts between the Jewish and Arab.
