Describe the causes and effects of the truman doctrine, marshall plan, seato, and the warsaw pact.

Truman Doctrine- After World War II, the Unite States was worried about communism spreading to other countries. This was especially true for countries that were close to the Soviet Union, including Turkey and Greece. This is why the United States gave $400 million in economic aid to these two countries, as they wanted to prevent them from falling under the control of the Soviet Union.

Marshall Plan- The Marshall Plan was similar to the Truman Doctrine in its goal, as it was also focused on stopping the spread of communism by helping countries after World War II. The Marshall Plan resulted in $13 billion in economic aid to countries who suffered damages during World War II.

SEATO- This alliance was created between the United States, Great Britain, France and countries of Southeast Asia. This alliance was built to stop communism from spreading in this region.

Warsaw Pact- This alliance created by the Soviet Union was a response to America's creation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This alliance included several countries under the control of the Soviet Union like Romania, Bulgaria, etc.
